Subramaniam, Minister Of Health Malaysia has stated in his opening speech for the MIDEC Dental Conference 2015 in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today that the compulsory service will be reduced from 2 years to 1 year in order to make the program a more compact one.

Although this is not an official statement from ministry of health, this move has been long predicted by the dental community due to the overwhelming volume of dental graduates being produced in and out of the country.
